Let's face the music...

Our Guest Editor this week is Bryony Kimmings - 'performance artist, comedian, writer, theatre maker, feminist, playwright, director, activist and loudmouth'.

She's not shy of tackling difficult, gritty or taboo subjects. She's not a big fan of musicals either. Who'd've thought? Her well honed, sharply comical and truth-seeking creative formula is brave and successful.

We weren't surprised to hear that her next show at the National Theatre would be a co-production with the highly acclaimed theatre company, Complicite.

The show confronts one of the scariest words we know. Cancer.

It's also a musical. And, it's 'also, rather grandly, about the state of humanity.'

Read our interview with Bryony where she talks to us about cancer, laughter, post-Brexit escapism - and her show: A Pacifist's Guide to the War on Cancer.

In our Magazine section please take some time to complete the survey on 'night-time economy' for Hackney Council. We also have two jobs going at Barbican (Associate Producer) and South London Gallery (Development Manager).

Here's to wishing you a scorcher of week dear Players! Bottoms up! Bisous! Bisous! RRxx
