London-based American composer Ebe Oke is crowdfunding his next EP, the product of years of research and recording. The record is a study of the ways in which different animals communicate, with a particular focus on the musicality of birds and insects. Through this microcosm, Oke’s work interrogates the urban experience, gender, sexuality, and what it is to be human.

Father John Misty premieres new material ahead of Pure Comedy release

King of bathos, sarcasm and awkward BBC Breakfast interviews, Father John Misty set out on his European tour last week, previewing a handful of unreleased songs from his forthcoming album Pure Comedy.

The singer seems to have a knack of writing beautiful songs about everything from the inane nature of social media to sarcastic ballads mocking what Pitchfork described as “the entire franchise of privileged white men”.

Chuck Berry, Rock & Roll Innovator

Chuck Berry, a music pioneer often called the Father of Rock 'n' Roll, was found dead this Saturday.

Berry wrote and recorded many American rock & roll classics including "Johnny B. Goode" and "Sweet Little Sixteen".

"Berry took all-night hamburger stands, brown-eyed handsome men and V-8 Fords and turned them into the stuff of American poetry. By doing so, he gave rise to followers beyond number, bar-band disciples of the electric guitar, who carried his musical message to the far corners of the Earth."

The National Gallery Opens Gallery B, Its First New Display Space in 26 Years

Gallery B, the first new gallery space created at the National Gallery in 26 years, is due to open on the 22nd of March with a display dedicated to the 17th-century Old Masters, Rembrandt and Rubens. The new 200 sq. m space was designed by the UK-based architects Purcell.

The inaugural show includes nine works by Rubens and 11 paintings by Rembrand. All of the works are drawn from the permanent collection.
