Father John Misty premieres new material ahead of Pure Comedy release

King of bathos, sarcasm and awkward BBC Breakfast interviews, Father John Misty set out on his European tour last week, previewing a handful of unreleased songs from his forthcoming album Pure Comedy.

The singer seems to have a knack of writing beautiful songs about everything from the inane nature of social media to sarcastic ballads mocking what Pitchfork described as “the entire franchise of privileged white men”.

Above, Father John Misty performs new track Bigger Paper Bag in Amsterdam. You’ve got until 7th April to take bets on every thing and one that will be the targets of new Josh Tillman’s unique brand of unrelenting satire.
