Personal Brief

Jordan Brooks is a film blogger-turned podcast host who started writing about movies back in 2014 (it seems like a lot longer). After moving to London in the fall of 2015, he decided to get a master’s in global cinema from SOAS University of London as a means of both staying in the country, and gaining an academic background for the subject he loves so much. Unable to find a job in global cinema, Jordan’s visa expired, and he had to go back to America where he records a movie-drinking-game podcast in his parent’s closet. It’s called Drink For… and you should probably check it out, and let the UK government know that this kind of talent shouldn’t get the boot so easily.

Artists on your radar, shout them out!

S. Craig Zahler might be the most interesting American filmmaker working today, and JID doesn’t get nearly the love he should in the UK.

Which is your number one location - and what's it best for?

Small Beer - friendship, pints and monster munch.

'Getting creative', what's it all about?

As someone who isn’t very creative, it seems like a kind of beautiful magic.

Your Life, Right Now - what's the soundtrack?

Does the Bodega Boys podcast count as a soundtrack?

What is your idea of a jolly good time?

Small Beer.

What happened the last time you were a complete disgrace?

I created an instagram account (@kingjordanbrooks) and lost my sunglasses breaking into Waterlow park believing it to be a short cut.
