Personal Brief

Jareh Das, MA Ph.D. is a Curator, Researcher and Writer who has worked on a variety of projects encompassing exhibitions, art fairs, art consultation, sales and public programming (talks, events, and education) in international cities including Amsterdam, Berlin, Lisbon, London, Dubai, Hong Kong, Mexico City, Middlesbrough and Tehran.

Between 2013 -2017, Jareh Das completed an AHRC funded collaborative doctorate at Royal Holloway offered in partnership with Arts Catalyst, London. Her thesis 'Bearing Witness: On performing and documenting pain in Performance Art' considers the role of witness applied to contemporary performance art. Das examined how pain operates within this context, alongside addressing the resistance and complexities associated with theorising this emotion-phenomenon-feeling.

Her curatorial and writing interests are varied but performance art, architecture, social practice, feminism, and activism. She is also an occasional florist and avid Karaoke singer.
