All This Can Happen (2012)

Siobhan Davies & David Hinton; 3pm & 6pm

Constructed entirely from archive photographs and footage from the earliest days of cinema, All This Can Happen is based on Robert Walser’s novella, The Walk (1917). A flickering dance of intriguing imagery brings to light the possibilities of ordinary movements from the everyday which appear, evolve and freeze before your eyes.

A Question of Movement (2011)

Marcus Coates & Henry Montes; showing continuously during the day

Montes and Coates’ experiment with the role of physical movement in approaching and understanding questions; filming members of the public in their homes and places of work, Montes invites them to ask a question which Coates uses as a catalyst to spontaneously approach through movement.

A Dance of Ownership, A Song in Hand (2011)

Gill Clarke & Lucy Skaer; showing continuously during the day

Clarke and Skaer travelled to the uninhabited island of St Kilda and to Mount Stuart, to create a film work which investigates ways to unbalance normal conditions and record different realities.

Lying in Wait (2009)

Idris Khan & Sarah Warsop; showing between screenings of All This Can Happen

Lying in Wait is an atmospheric film installation work set among a series of moving bookshelves, among which Warsop dances and re-dances a series of brief sequences making sheathing movements with open white palms. Formed of layered movement, the choreography evokes a relationship between opening pages and breathing lungs.
