Climate is culture

That’s the motto of ArtCop21, a global climate festival, programmed in response to the UN Climate Change Conference in Paris. It counts 481 major events in 51 countrires (from plays, gigs, exhibitions to people power gatherings - and much more) and aims to relocate the debates on a greener, sustainable economy from politicians to people.

Read all about the festival (and mobilise that personal agency) in our interview with Lucy Wood, Programme Director at ArtCOP21 and Cape Farewell. As our Guest Editor Lucy also handpicked 4 London ArtCop21 events for your consideration: join the summit launch party at St Pancras, discover what it’s like to live on the ice edge of the world, find out how austerity, refugees and climate destruction mingle, or what happens to all that melted polar water.

The political urgency continues in our Magazine where Run Riot favourite Penny Arcade contributes a feature on the myth of aging as failure (don’t expect her to hold back). On the charitable side of things we’re giving away tickets for Danish noisemeisters, Dickie Beau's hallucinatory show, The Artful Badgers Winter Masked Ball, some brash, young & angry political theatre and a night that includes droid wrestling (true story).

In Best of the Rest we invite you to contemplate big data, throw yourself into a mosh pit, witness the fitness at Chessboxing, or march for our climate. That’s just a taster of course - take a scroll and click around for more!

Remember: climate is everyone's business. Until next week - bottoms up! RRxx
