4:3 PRESENTS: SIMON REYNOLDS ON VISUAL MUSIC

Simon Reynolds takes us on a YouTube journey through a selection of 20th century experimental animation films exploring the concept of visual music. Sample works by the pioneers of abstract animation, who often collaborated with musique concrete and electronic composers or made their own soundtracks to their films. Presented by 4:3, Boiler Room’s platform for underground film.

Work with images from dada and surrealist artists, who explored the unexpected and uncanny through photomontage, including Raoul Hausmann, Hannah Höch, Man Ray, Paul Nash and Eileen Agar.

TUNGA: CAPILLARY XIPHOPAGUS AMONG US

Catch Tunga's legendary performance featuring twin girls conjoined by their hair who unexpectedly appear in the galleries to create a surreal environment that blurs the line between reality and fiction. Performances will take place at various times throughout the building.
