Blending performance, lecture and participation, Travis Alabanza presents a talk on the fight for freedom for those on the margins, linking explorations within the Season to trans liberation.
Travis Alabanza is a writer, performer and theatre-maker who is shaping much of the UK conversation around trans politics. Alabanza became the youngest ever artist in residence at Tate and has performed at The V&A, ICA and Roundhouse and presented talks at universities in the UK and internationally.

Travis Alabanza is a performer, writer and theatre maker. Their unique mixture of performance, poetry, style, politics and risk taking performance has given them a unique placement both nationally and internationally. They have been noted by Artsty, i-D and the MOBO Awards as one of the most prominent emerging queer artistic voices, listed in OUT as an influential queer figure, appeared in campaigns with MAC X ASOS and performed across the country and internationally. In 2016/17 they became the youngest artist in residence at the Tate, performed in venues such as The V&A, ICA, Tate, Hackney Showroom, Roundhouse and The Barbican, touring extensively across Europe and the US in addition to premiering their new solo show, BURGERZ. They released a short poetry book 'Before I Step Outside [You Love Me]', presented a TedX talk, starred in the Royal Exchange Theatre production 'Jubilee’, and have had their work featured in The Guardian, BBC, Huck magazine and more.
