Bring yourself, bring your friends, bring your family and show your support for Hackney's nightlife. Protest Hackney Council and their restrictive licensing policies!

Councillors from the borough of Hackney have voted in favour of what’s been described as the “most restrictive licensing policies in the UK”. Meaning new venues will be forced to close by 11pm on weekdays and 12am on weekends.

In the public consultation, Hackney residents were overwhelmingly opposed to the proposals and our councillors have ignored us.

Hackney Borough has some of the most vibrant and diverse nightlife in London, and this policy is a direct attack on local businesses. The policy will disproportionately impact LGBTQ+ and marginalised communities who have made Hackney their home, at a time where across the city, LGBTQ+ venues are being hit hardest by closures.

So come to Hackney Town Hall and join the many on Friday to protest this act of gentrification, one that will stagnate Hackney’s nightlife economy!
