Over 24 hours of the 2019 Summer Solstice, the airwaves over the treetops of Epping Forest will crackle with the sound of the people of London.

A 24 radio station set up in the Tudor timbers of the Queen Elizabeth Hunting Lodge in Chingford will house the transmitter for the broadcast of sounds recorded and sent in by the people of the Forest, London and beyond.

Anyone will be able to send in whatever they like for broadcast, so that alongside household names they're looking for school children, grandparents, bedroom musicians, poets, music of all styles, from grime to opera to someone's Granddad playing the piano to someone singing in the bath.

Want to submit a piece for broadcast? Please email The Dark Outside team at darkoutsidelondon@gmail.com.

The Dark Outside is part of The People's Forest season - a series of events exploring our relationship with Epping Forest, interrogating the deep bond we have with forests and woodland, and how this relationship is culturally determined.
