A spectacular annual fundraising event that aims to radically increase the public's awareness of prostate cancer

Hundreds of men of all shapes and sizes descend on London, where they each walk or run for 10.2km wearing a wig and a frock in order to drag the issue into the spotlight. That's one long stride for each of the 10,200 men lost to the disease each year.

Yes, they did say frocks and wigs.

It’s a race in the loosest sense of the word. They welcome all abilities and fitness types, even if you can only do the final 10.2 metres. You just have to be a man and man enough to put on a frock to raise awareness of prostate cancer.

This year they're sponsored by Beyond Retro, Rooftop Film Club, and Rude Grrl, who have generously offered their support of The Great Drag Race.

Get your frock on at Highbury Fields, north London on Saturday 30 June 2012. Arrive before noon to apply your lippy and finishing touches to your hemline before the starter’s pistol at 1.30pm.

Expect live entertainment, food and a licenced bar as well as the chance to witness the most flamboyant fun run in town. Guest performances and celebrity appearances all add to the party atmosphere which goes on until 6pm.

They’ll also be attempting to break their own Guinness World Record for the Longest Line of Dancing Drag Queens.

Frocks win prizes! Like all great races, prizes are up for grabs. Categories are open to all teams and individuals rocking frocks.

It's £10 to register for the race. Sign up HERE or call on 020 8788 7720 during normal office hours.
