Sad to hear tickets to stay in the Room for London boat hotel atop the Southbank centre have sold out again?Don't worry- there's still a way to get involved...

Do you have a brilliant idea for London? An ingenious solution to a local problem or a magnificent plan for civic transformation? Artangel and the London Evening Standard are searching for the idealists and innovators, fixers and dreamers who have remarkable ideas for the future of our capital.

Every month of the Olympic year, one Londoner will have the chance to stay overnight in A room for London discussing, developing and sleeping on their winning idea.

The brief is wide open. We want to hear ideas that are practical but also ideas that are whimsical, ideas that could happen tomorrow and ideas that would take years to realise, ideas concerned with technology, the environment, civic infrastructure or social good. In short, we are simply looking for flashes of brilliance.

The competition opens on 6 September and runs for one year closing at noon on 5 September 2012. Every month their panel of judges will choose one outstanding idea and invite the proposer to stay overnight in the Room for London. While aboard the winner will have the opportunity to explore and develop their idea with a number of creative and influential people, both one to one and over a dinner, before literally 'sleeping on it'. All twelve winning ideas will receive coverage in the London Evening Standard.
