Vauxhall Ampera Forethought Series ft Intelligence Squared, Wired and Wallpaper at King's Cross Filling Station

Vauxhall Motors will launch the “Vauxhall Ampera Season”, the first programme of cultural activity at the newly unveiled King’s Cross Filling Station (KXFS), London’s latest landmark.

The six-month programme will explore emerging ideas within modern culture, encompassing popular science, future technology and new thinking through a series of five projects and commissions. 

The first event in the Season will be ‘Vauxhall Ampera Forethought Series’, 10th – 12th July. Running over three evenings, three very different partners present a night of thought and ideas, exploring how technology and science are changing our lives.

On Tuesday 10th July debating heavyweights Intelligence Squared – who have previously hosted such celebrated speakers as Stephen Fry, Christopher Hitchens, Gore Vidal and Germaine Greer amongst others – will present Motor Culture a discussion on the past and future of mobility, featuring Luke Wright, Steven Bayley, Geoff Dyer and Dr Michael Jump. On Wednesday 11th July Wired magazine offer Four Things You Need to Know for the Future with four forward thinkers as a guide to technological innovations that everyone should understand, in a night hosted by Wired culture editor Tom Cheshire.

For Thursday 12th July architecture and design magazine Wallpaper will curate a line-up on The New City, with pioneering ideas that are changing the way we live and build.
