Salonierre Damian Barr hosts the first literary salon of the new school year, featuring Immodesty Blaize, Rupert Thompson and Molly Parkin.

Premiering her new novel, Immodesty Blaize is Britain's answer to Dita Von Teese. Apparently her book ‘Ambition’ makes Showgirls look like a Jane Austen novel. Will Sienna Starr escape her mother’s long famous shadow? Or will she be brought down by the vicious vixen Brandy Alexander?

Rupert Thompson has written eight novels, most recently the Costa shortlisted ‘Death of a Murderer’. His memoir, ‘This Party’s Got To Stop’, is a moving and disarmingly funny account of grief, loss and brotherly love. Rupert Thomson delves into his shelves to do the Story of My Life. Having just moved from Barcelona he wasn’t sure he could find the book he’s going to talk about but it was in the first box he looked in. A sign, surely.

Molly Parkin made 1960s London swing with her Kings Road Boutique. She then founded Nova and became a fashion legend. In the 1970s, she wrote ten bestselling comic erotic novels before being banned from the BBC for ‘excessive’ swearing. What a life! At 78, Molly Parkin’s memoir ‘Welcome To Mollywood’ charts her delicious reign featuring everyone who’s been anyone for the last 50 years. Find out what links her, Prince Philip, and a light bulb.

All that and a free G&T from Hendrick’s.You don't have to be a member of Shoreditch House to attend, but you do have to RSVP via the facebook page, and get there early because its usually packed.
