London Dreamtime are delighted to announce that we will be going aboard the Docklands Community Boat in Cody Dock for their next storytelling adventure.
"Cody Dock, built in the 1870s on the industrial Lower Lea River, has slipped through the cracks of east London’s creative regeneration, lying abandoned and sealed off for decades." (Gasworks Dock Partnership) Exact location provided on booking.
This is an old barge from the Mersey which is accessed by going through the derelict land around Millenium Mills. The monolithic shattered warehouses are normally behind locked gates and have just been bought by developers for £1.3bn. They have provided the backdrop for Jean Michel Jarre's "Destination Docklands", "Brazil", "Ashes to Ashes" and many more. Join them on the barge for candlelit tales of strange things lurking in the mud of the Thames as the sun sets over the water. Places are very strictly limited. Half of the takings will benefit Gasworks Dock Partnership- a local charity which works to connect people in Newham to the river.
