A rare opportunity to hear the internationally acclaimed Nigerian novelist Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, who will deliver the a lecture to open The Folio Prize Fiction Festival weekend.
Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie's first novel, Purple Hibiscus, was longlisted for the Man Booker Prize. Her second, Half of a Yellow Sun, won the 2007 Orange Prize for Fiction. And Americanah, her latest, won the National Book Critics Circle Award for Fiction and was one of The New York Times's Ten Best Books of the Year. She is the recipient of a MacArthur Fellowship, and in 2010 appeared on the New Yorker's “20 Under 40”: a list of young fiction writers considered the best of their generation. Her TED lecture 'The Danger of a Single Story', given in 2009, has received in excess of 7.7 million views online.
