Says Tom: “I’m really looking forward to chatting with Dominic West about his life, work and philosophy… I first came across him a few years ago when he pitched an interview to the Idler. I had heard of him but didn’t really know much about him. In his email he said, ‘I’m filming a cop show in the States and I’ve got quite lot of spare time.’ That show turned out to be The Wire, and the self-effacing West is now one of the finest actors of his generation. “Tonight we’ll be talking about Dom’s career to date and showing clips from his work. We’ll also discuss his new film, West Goes East, on India’s extraordinary Kumbh Mela festival, where his old pal Jim Mallinson was officially ordained as a holy man in 2013. So there will be a philosophical dimension, in that Dominic is searching for wisdom.
