Join ActionAid for their 2016 campaigner conference – a day of solidarity and celebration with grassroots campaigners from developing countries.

You’ll hear inspiring activists talk about their campaigning work, and have the chance to learn more about activism, from ending violence against women to making the global tax system fair for everyone.

They’ll be sharing a full programme during January, but here’s a preview of the talks and workshops you’ll see on the day:

Panel debate:
- How can we support grassroots groups in the global south?
- How to organise for change in your local community
- Protesting through art
- How to use social media in your campaigning

ActionAid's campaigns fight the root causes that keep the world’s most vulnerable women and children in poverty. Whether you’re new to ActionAid or you’ve been campaigning with them for years, you’re part of an international movement standing together in solidarity from almost 50 countries, from Nigeria to the Netherlands.

Register here, and be a part of the movement.

Speakers (more to be announced)
Chisomo Bullah
A youth activist with ActionAid Malawi, Chisomo is a grassroots campaigner for a fair tax system. Malawi is the poorest country in the world, but loses vast amounts of money every year to foreign companies because of unfair tax rules. Along with her fellow activists, Chisomo is campaigning to turn the tables on tax in her country.

Zoe Williams
A columnist on the Guardian and regular contributor to women's mags and weeklies, Zoe is well known for her outspoken, satirical takes on current affairs. She appears on TV and radio now and again, and has also spoken out on how responsible tax can be used as a weapon against inequality.
