The world’s leading TV Festival, the Edinburgh International Television Festival hosts a series of exclusive screenings and talks featuring leading creatives and executives.

Throughout the series we’ll be premiering some of the most innovative and creative programmes of 2013. Each will be followed by a live and exclusive Q&A with talent and producers of the show. This will be your chance to hear from the top writers, producers and actors and to ask them questions about your favourite programmes.

Channel 4’s original new drama Run created and written by newcomers Marlon Smith and Daniel Fajemisin-Duncan – weaves together the stories of four seemingly unconnected people facing life-changing decisions, in a world where even the smallest choices are a luxury.

Olivia Colman (Tyrannosaur, Twenty Twelve), Katie Leung (Harry Potter) Lennie James (Line of Duty, The Walking Dead) and Jaime Winstone (True Love, Made in Dagenham) star in the series of fast-paced narratives which paint a rich and compelling picture of modern day life. Run also features an ensemble cast of exciting new talent, brought together through an extensive grass roots audition process.

Poignant, dynamic, honest and witty, Run is directed by Bafta-nominated Charles Martin (Skins, Being Human, Wallander) and first-time drama director Jonathan Pearson, and is the debut drama commission from Acme Films, owned by Jaimie D'Cruz (Oscar-nominated Exit Through The Gift Shop) and Francesca Newby. In episode one, previewed exclusively at this event, Carol (Olivia Colman) plays a tough single mother striving to keep her family together. When her teenage sons commit an act of random violence that ends in the death of a stranger, Carol faces the impossible choice of protecting her children or doing the right thing.

Following the world premiere of this exciting new drama created for Channel 4, actress Olivia Colman will be joined by writers Marlon Smith and Daniel Fajemisin-Duncan and Acne Film owner Jaimie D’Cruz to discuss the process of creating the series.

Speakers: Olivia Colman, Marlon Smith, Daniel Fejemisin-Duncan and Jaimie D’Cruz.
