Hitchcock’s powerful film of Sean O Casey’s classic play follows the ups and downs of a family in Dublin, forced to live like vagabonds after an expected inheritance is not be received.

During the Irish revolution, a family earns a big inheritance. They start leading a rich life forgetting what the most important values of are. Unfortunately they discover they will not receive the inheritance. The family is destroyed and penniless. They must sell their home and start living in the Dublin tenement slums.
