CircusFest / BFI: Tod Browning Double Bill: ‘Freaks’ / ‘The Unknown’ at the Roundhouse
It’s a Tod Browning double bill! Yes… Expect the macabre, the shocking and the frightening, with a good healthy measure of sideshow and Carnival freaks, love triangles, beautiful girls and a strongman! Brilliant!

FREAKS: A macabre classic about a carnival barker who displays a sideshow freak called the Feathered Hen and then tells her story. A sensation in its day, Freaks manages to frighten and shock, and remains a remarkable piece of filmmaking. THE UNKNOWN: A story involving a love triangle, a supposedly limbless circus freak, a beautiful girl, a handsome strongman and murder. Featuring a live soundtrack by Nacho Martin.
