London Word Festival: 'Scrabble Sunday' at Pembury Tavern
An afternoon of laid-back word-battle in East London’s best boardgaming pub

They bring the boards (lovely vintage, spinny twirly, junior and even giant are amongst their array), you bring the vocab. Play as you like: score, or don’t score; come on your own and let them fix you up with opponents, or come as groups of friends and invent new versions such as Scraboo. With official Scrabble Dictionary keepers floating around to assist in word disputes and a pile of freshly baked cakes and biscuits to hand out to Scrabblers, whether it’s your first time or you’re a seasoned pro.
