A screening of the Hearts first short film! An exploration into circus culture past and present featuring the unsurpassed talents of Marawa the Amazing! Carnesky's Ghost Train! So and So Circus! Followed by party! The Broken Hearts were awarded a small amount of funding for a short documentary film-pitch they wrote on circus history. "Welcome to the Big Top" is an exploration of the history of the circus in the East End and the recurring cultural motif of the circus in contemporary culture. It premiered at the East End Film Festival in April. “In a world of artificial Hollywood spectacle, are we looking for a return to the excesses of human endeavour, flair and excitement? Welcome to the Big Top is an exploration of the history of the circus in the East End and the recurring cultural motif of the circus in contemporary culture. Following East End DJ duo the Broken Hearts on a surreal and thrilling journey, we travel to meet performers past and present in the spaces they appear or appeared.”
