Tony Hornecker: 'Behind the Pale Blue Door' at The Pale Blue Door
Set designer extraordinaire Tony Hornecker turns his fairytale home into a pop-up restaurant during these cosy, autumnal nights. Charmed cuisine to warm your cockles.

'If you follow your nose and open your ears and let the breeze carry the waft of smoke and the whiff of moonshine, the promise of love will drive you on and with furtive looks you knock three times, a heavily lacquered hand reaches out. Light, love and laughter spill out into the night sky before the city falls back into it’s slumber, only turning slightly in it’s cold and guilty bed.' This sums up what you can expect behind the pale blue door that adorns Tony Hornecker's eclectic abode. The sets Tony designed for the artwork on Bat for Lashes' latest album perfectly evoke his otherworldy, fairytale aesthetic- his house is just as full of curiosities and paraphernalia. Part art installation, part restaurant, Tony draws on his previous experience as a chef to create a delicious experience involving roast beef and Greek drag queens in a wartime, speakeasy atmosphere.
