Love and Madness Ensemble: ‘A Skull In Connemara’ at the Riverside Studios
Martin McDonagh’s part-thriller/comedy/whodunit, part-farce and blood-splattered script, A Skull in Connemara, tells the story of a gravedigger who is faced with demons from the past when digging up his wife's grave.

16 June – 26 July. The middle play in the award-winning playwright Martin McDonagh’s (The Pillowman, In Bruges) popular Leenane trilogy tells the story of gravedigger Mick Dowd who must exhume the graveyard every seven years to make way for new corpses and is now faced with the task of unearthing the bones of his dead wife. As the bodies resurface, so do the questions surrounding the circumstances of Mick’s wife’s demise. Did Mick Dowd's wife die when he was drunk at the wheel or as a result of a deadly blow?
