Symphony of Noise takes the viewer on a journey with musician and composer Matthew Herbert. We gain insight into the mind of the artist who combines real-life music with politically sensitive issues.

How do we perceive the sound of the world? The sound of a tooth being pulled, the birth of a pig, a swimmer crossing the English Channel.

Herbert's premise is that music has undergone a revolution. Instead of making music with instruments, we can now use anything that makes a sound. Music is not a product but a process.

Over a period of 10 years, director Enrique Sánchez Lansch accompanied the artist in his creative process: in the conception, recording and performance of his most exciting projects and diverse activities. We learn what drives this exceptional artist, how he came to his convictions, and why changing our hearing is a revolutionary act for him.
