It’s time for the May edition of Nonclassical’s monthly nights at The Victoria with pianist Yshani Perinpanayagam and drummer Sean Noonan performing solo sets on their respective instruments.

Yshani's set - “Piano Play” will feature a world premiere by Cheryl Frances-Hoad and a London premiere of Ben Oliver's '147' (synchronised to a projected video of Ronnie O'Sullivan's record breaking 147 break in 1997), whilst Sean will be performing music from his Bruised by Noon project.

Over the last few years ‘classical club-nights’ have become an increasingly visible feature of the city’s nightlife. This has been fuelled by the next generation of classical performers, composers and promoters who are redefining the rules, and breaking out of the constraints of the traditional concert hall.

At the forefront of this new movement is Nonclassical. Founded by composer Gabriel Prokofiev in 2004, Nonclassical is a club-night and record label based in East London. The audience represents a young generation of music lovers who are searching for the latest exciting developments in music. At each event, innovative and virtuosic classical musicians blow away audiences with their incredible musicianship and new compositions.
