Venture to South London to see some of the best artists in traditional and contemporary acoustic, folk and roots music. Shows will take place over three stages within The Bedford and will include headliners such as Brother & Bones (“Devastatingly pure... Arena sized soul...” - Ilike Music), Skinny Lister, Luke Concannon (formerly of Nizlopi) ("Political, intense, angular and beautiful', Colin Murray BBC Radio 1) and the much appraised Alessi’s Ark (“A bewitching stage presence and an angelic vocal make Alessi’s Ark very easy to love”, Clash). Megan Henwood will also be performing, she has recently been all over BBC Radio 2 and was a nominee at this year’s Folk Awards having won an award there in 2009.
The Balham community are getting involved too creating a 'Fringe' feel with clothing and artisan stalls, food and drink on every street and a daytime stage outside in the nearby area as well as performances in local bars and restaurants and the not-so-secret performance sessions on The Bedford stairwell. Tickets can be bought for the whole event of for individual days via Music Glue.
SUNDAY is FREE with children's activities throughout the venue and a Jam session with artists who've previously played finishing with the Balham Ukele Orchestra.
