Black is Le Gateau Chocolat’s new show: this work explores Le Gateau’s life, loves and fears. This is an intimate portrait of the Nigerian singer and his own personal battles.

Featuring a repertoire ranging from Wagner and Purcell to Nina Simone and Whitney Houston, Black is an intimate and confessional portrait of Nigerian singer Le Gateau Chocolat’s life: his hopes, his fears and his battle with depression.

Previously, Le Gateau Chocolat has sung internationally on major stages including Sydney Opera House, Menier Chocolate Factory, Royal Opera House, and Glyndebourne Opera as well as performing all over the world with hit shows La Clique and La Soiree.

Black was originally commissioned by homotopia and created with funding from Arts Council England and support from Pink Fringe, Nightingale Theatre, and Colchester Arts Centre.
