A celebration of pioneers who use technology to innovate, to break the usual beat rather than getting stuck in a loop, kicks off in style.

Clark's live show encompasses swirls of psychedelia, fire-and-brimstone techno, and all manner of explosive experimentation - with added visual complexity. His recent self-titled LP for Warp is a protracted club experience distilled into a cinematic, immersive whole. A chiselled vision of techno contextualized for a post-rave environment - the clean, cold edges of technology eroded over time to produce raw, fascinating new textures. These textures lay the foundations for a hugely kaleidoscopic listening experience filled with warmth where memorable songwriting packed with melody and subtle, unpredictable shifts in mood . A finely balanced mix of electronic composition, heads down techno, human nature and the environment it was created in.

After four years of incremental musical evolution, Vessels emerge into the light with a brave and brilliant new sound, masterfully fusing the widescreen builds and elegant breakdowns of their previous work with altogether more physical electronic rhythms.  With their new album ‘Dilate’, the band are firmly focussed on the euphoria of the dancefloor. Always a consummate live act, recent performances have been an unholy communion, two drummers front and centre, band and audience feeding off each other’s energy.

The reason why London-based producer Ryan Lee West, aka Rival Consoles, sounds so human is because the tracks don’t start life solely locked in synthesisers. West often composes early ideas on piano, violin and guitar long before the electronic layers are added creating a great texture and depth to his work. With ‘Odyssey’ (2013) and ‘Sonne’ (2014), West gained a reputation for making thoughtful electronica that spans a wide spectrum of musical ideas. As an accomplished sound designer, he has repeatedly performed at the Tate, and recently created a bespoke audio-visual performance for Boiler Room at the V&A. Ryan has also produced remixes for New York based composer Nico Muhly and UK producer Jon Hopkins, and composes original music for dance, film and television.
