MOULETTES announce their biggest London gig to date, presented by Communion Music

Moulettes’ entrancing combination of strings and celestial harmonies; woodwind and weirdness; rhythm and devilry has lead to comparisons with Bellowhead, Kate Bush and Shostakovich.

Their charismatic, idiosyncratic brand of modern folk music – which incorporates elements of prog and alt.rock, pop and Classical – has enthralled crowds at many festivals, including End Of The Road, Glastonbury, Cambridge Folk and Latitude, where they played BBC Radio 3’s Late Junction stage.

Ex-Moulette Ted Dwane, now of Mumford & Sons has recently returned to the fold to help record the band’s acclaimed second album, The Bear’s Revenge.

Liz Green, long-time friend and collaborator also contributed vocals. Seasick Steve employed violinist Georgina on his latest album and live shows; and cellist Hannah has just recorded and performed with Adrian McNally from The Unthanks. Two Moules are also members of the legendary Crazy World Of Arthur Brown. Moulettes are currently touring with the lovely Arthur.

“Moulettes are among the frontrunners of the new British acoustic scene thanks to their sophisticated, unpredictable approach, matching exquisite female harmony vocals against complex, swirling backing featuring violin, cello and bassoon… Excellent live show…Adventurous, charming…edgy as well as upbeat.” Robin Denselow, The Guardian
