New music station Amazing Radio have teamed up with the Queen of Hoxton to bring you a FREE all day live music event this July.
Bella Union signee Landshapes will be headlining with tracks from their gorgeous just-released debut album. Their album, Rambutan - the name chosen 'not so much after the fruit but for the sound the word makes' produced by Ash Workman is a distillation of songs old and new, re-worked and fine-tuned with a deft precision. As their previous incarnation Lulu and the Lampshades, they're probably best known for the viral cup song You're Gonna Miss Me - with over 3 million hits on YouTube and counting - but in the ensuing period they've undergone a considerable musical metamorphosis.
Birmingham rockers Jaws join them on the bill adding massive B-Town Swagger to the proceedings. The bands recently sold-out Milkshake EP released earlier in the year picked up many accolades and an excitedly growing live fan base. Jaws are about to follow this up with new single Gold. The past year has seen the young Birmingham four piece churn out a steady and impressive output of hook-laden and immersive hazy garage pop, from singles Donut and Surround You to Friend, Like You and Stay In, all now staunch live favourites, with eager fans singing back the words at sweatily packed shows. It has seen them record a live session for Huw Stephens at Radio 1, play a triumphant sold out headline homecoming show at Birmingham's 300 capacity Hound and Hare, as well as having their songs appear on the unlikely cross-section from Made In Chelsea to Match Of The Day.
The brilliantly named Throwing Up, fresh from releasing their debut album on Tim Burgess' label will get the mosh pit heaving.
Wonky dream pop merchants The Death of Pop, Hull punk rockers Life and noisy drum-guitar duo The Pearl Harts join them.
