With the release of her debut album “…The Journey Aflame”, Naru has in a short time established herself on the scene as a role model for what women can be in hip hop.

Since the album was released, her contribution has been deemed a classic by hip-hop critics from New York to Moscow. With classic boom bap, hip-hop sounds, socially conscious rhymes and jazz-soul elements, Naru has been compared with acts such as Lauryn Hill and The Roots.

Naru’s musical and poetic gifts have been appreciated in hip hop circles and are amplified within live performance. Representing strongly when performing with The DIGFLO Band, a six-piece ensemble including drums, keys, saxophone/flute, bass, guitar, and turntables, Akua Naru and her band captivate audiences.

Ezra Collective will play in support- catch the afro-jazz masters below playing for Boiler Room. Also in support is South London singer/songwriter, Poppy Ajudha, who marries jazz and blues with funk beats. ……………………………………………………………………………………….
