Director James Marsh (Man on Wire) takes a close look at the relationship between Stephen Hawking (Oscar-winner Eddie Redmayne) and his wife Jane (Felicity Jones, The Invisible Woman).
Beginning in the 1960s, the film follows Stephen and Jane as they meet at the University of Cambridge and begin to fall deeply in love. When Hawking receives an earth-shattering diagnosis at the age of 21, life as he knows it is blown apart. But with Jane fighting by his side, Stephen embarks on his most ambitious scientific work, and together they defy impossible odds to break new ground in medicine and science.
