The oldest auction house in India fights for survival in the age of eBay. Catch Edward Owles' first documentary feature at the opening night of the Open City Docs Fest, celebrating documentary film.

Anwer is fighting to change the fortunes of the beloved auction house that his Grandfather bought from the British. But in a chaotic, fragmented Indian city with dozy staff and and the troubles with his younger brother, the odds are stacked against him. Through the relationship of the two brothers and their memories of the past the documentary asks whether an old family business can still find a niche in modern Calcutta.

Open City Docs Fest aims to to challenge ideas existing ideas about the limits of documentaries. Their series is designed to provoke debate and open minds through films about real life and to lend an ear to those voices that are not often heard.
