An alfresco screening of Antonioni's 1966 psychological mystery, starring David Hemmings, complete with a light supper of Pizza and a glass of wine from Locket’s Wine Bar.
In 1966, Michelangelo Antonioni transplanted his existentialist ennui to the streets of swinging London for this international sensation, the Italian filmmaker’s first English-language feature. A countercultural masterpiece about the act of seeing and the art of image making, Blow-Up takes the form of a psychological mystery, starring David Hemmings as a fashion photographer who unknowingly captures a death on film after following two lovers in a park (having taken in Smithson Plaza) Antonioni’s usual meticulous aesthetic control and intoxicating colour palette breathe life into every frame, set to an insanely brilliant soundtrack from Herbie Hancock and a beautifully evasive performance by Vanessa Redgrave. There’s also a cameo by the Yardbirds to make the film a transporting time capsule from a bygone era.
Additional food and drinks available throughout the film.
Music inspired by Blow-Up available before the film.
Please note that this is an outdoor screening - in the event of rain they'll relocate inside the building.
