Maryam Goormaghtigh’s first feature film is a warm-hearted and quirky documentary-style road movie about three Iranian friends touring the south of France.
Dates and Times: Fri 16, 8:30pm & Sat 17 Feb, 6:20pm.
After five years studying in Paris, Arash has decided to return home to Iran, but not before best friends and fellow Iranians Hossein and Ashkan take him on a goodbye road trip through the South of France. Caught between a wistful longing for home and love of their adopted country, the three friends kick back, drink beer, and laze in the sun as Summer draws to an end. A warm-hearted buddy movie and a comedy that deftly mixes documentary with improvised fiction, Before Summer Ends is also a tender portrait of young Iranian men as you’ve never seen them depicted before.
