Considered by some, as one of the instigating films of the swinging 50/60’s, Goodbye, See You Tomorrow is Janusz Morgenstern’s answer to French New Wave cinema.

The free-flowing narrative and troubled love story focuses on the youthful and attractive Jacek (Cybulski), who belongs to a drama company. By chance he meets Margeurite (Tuszyńska), the beautiful daughter of the French consul. From that moment on, his world is never the same. The film’s excellent score was written by Krzysztof Komeda, one of Poland’s most well known film composers, and 2016 celebrates eighty-five years since his birth.

Following the screening head to the Polish Embassy for this year’s KINOTEKA Closing Night Gala, featuring the live music of WMQ as well as entertainment and dance lessons provided by the Swing Patrol dancers. Go back in time to those jazz and swing sounds. Feel the atmosphere of old, afternoon dances and the rhythms of Duke Ellington, George Gershwin, Count Basie and Krzysztof Komeda, intertwined with contemporary compositions.

Costumes in 50s style are highly recommended!
