A series of increasingly violent (and inept) crimes upsets the quiet life of small town Fargo. Struggling to keep up with his debts, bumbling car dealer Jerry Lundegaard (William H Macy) displays desperate foolishness. And things continue to get worse for him as he gets tied up with a group of violent criminals, and heavily pregnant police officer Marge Gunderson (Frances McDormand) begins to unravel the truth.

Released in 1996, Fargo was a massive critical and commercial success, cementing the Coen Brothers as some of the finest filmmakers of their generation. 20 years on, it feels just as fresh and darkly hilarious. Here, Prince Charles Cinema present it on 35mm film. A must-see? Oh yah, you betcha.
