Every Goddam One of Them... Celebrate the 50-year film career of a true auteur and filth elder.

To some he may be the Pope of Trash, the Prince of Puke or Baltimore’s favourite son, but John Waters is an exceptional filmmaker by any measure. As a teenager he began making his own films using his family home as a location and friends and associates as actors. With each film Waters’ confidence grew (as did the budgets) and his aspirations were better realised. By the late 80s many of his best-loved accomplices were sadly no longer with us, but he’d already found a home with New Line Cinema, producing films that often seemed more accessible but had just as much bite as his early works. Ten years since Waters’ last film was released, he continues to manage parallel careers as a writer, performer, actor and artist. He’ll also be joining the BFI in person as they present – for the first time ever in the UK – all of his films.
