On his selection for this film season: "With the benefit of hindsight we can now recognise punk as part of an ongoing counter-cultural movement that has had a profound impact on our national psyche – as well as the rest of the globe. It’s in this spirit that I’ve selected these films. And they’re not limited to mohawks and music! Along with examples of movies that spoke to me personally, reflecting an attitude that made me the man I am today, there’s past and present examples of punk’s impact around the world.

The season also includes a selection of films we were either referencing, inspired by or straight up ripping off (hey, nothing comes out of a void)! Sure, there’s a few of the usual suspects, but what may be obvious to some might be a revelation to others. Besides, a lot of this happened 40 years ago. Ultimately, I hope this punk film season is not just viewed as a nostalgic look back, but rather a way to move forward. After all, if it happened before it can happen again. And looking at the state of the world today, it sure needs to."

Taking place throughout August, tickets go on sale on Tuesday 12th July at 11.30a for all screenings.
