A a functional solo dance piece about dysfunctional relationships. Three chairs, an aloe-vera plant and a critic take part in an odd sexual play that alters from ultimate pleasure to deep trauma.

Intercourse transports the audience into an uncertain experience, and asks questions of the theatrical apparatus with its cultural discourses through which choreography comes to ‘mean’. By exposing and advocating a live communication between artist, audience and critic, Intercourse wants to plant the idea that ‘everybody is a critic’.

Louise Ahl is a Swedish-born choreographer and performer, based in Glasgow. Through an expanded idea of dance and choreography, she creates solo work with her performance alter-ego Ultimate Dancer. Louise studied theatre in Sweden, Choreography in Berlin and graduated from Dartington College of Arts in 2010.
