What if there is already enough for everyone? What is the minimum we need to have in common to work together? This is a chance to take part in a reflection on dance and politics at Sadler's Wells.
Three artists behind The Rebel Man Standard explore the potential political ramifications of contemporary dance practice, socially and for the body of the doer.
The Rebel Man Standard is Jamila Johnson-Small, Hamish MacPherson and Zinzi Minott. Jamila is a London born and based independent artist. She makes dances, writes and collaborates in immigrants and animals, Project O and BELLYFLOP Magazine. Hamish makes performances, installations, workshops and other projects, often relating to the embodied aspects of politics and philosophy.
Zinzi is a dancer, working with ideas of duration, repetition and exhaustion when applied to politics and dance. She writes and talks on the subject as well.
