An exploration of lives of genius & the creative process, Rodin is inspired by the creative work & fate of the sculptor & his passionate relationship with his lover, student & muse, Camille Claudel.

15 - 17 April.

Following their spectacularly successful season in 2012, Eifman Ballet returns to London with the UK premiere of Rodin and reprised performances of Anna Karenina as part of the UK-Russia Year of Culture 2014.

Rodin is inspired by the world famous sculptor’s passionate 15 year relationship with his apprentice and muse Camille Claude who spent her next 30 years in a mental asylum following their breakup. An exploration of lives of genius and the creative process.

'Eifman not only depicts the reckless drive of a master sculptor and the two women he destroys but the act of creation itself, using nearly naked dancers as clay to be molded into masterworks… the same in your face intensity, the same graphic sensuality, the same appetite for special effects… that distinguish the newest block buster films'  - Lewis Segal, LA Times
