Celebrated Indian dance maker Mangaldas infuses the ancient art form kathak with high-octane 21st-century sound, rhythm and light.

Seven dancers including Mangaldas are joined by a group of musicians for a startlingly rich and intricate piece that emerges from the depths of the body, exploring the fragility, disintegration and renewal of the human form.

The maverick Indian choreographer merges classic and contemporary Indian dance styles in order to confront social and present-day concerns. Her work is characterised by percussive footwork, eloquent gestures and dizzying spins. In Inter_rupted, she collaborates with the innovative lighting designer Fabiana Piccioli, winner of the Knight of Illumination Award.
