#Hashtag

Mention the name of our Guest Editor Lara Clifton in certain circles and you'll get all manner of reactions - from a theatrical medley of dramatic gasp / pout / flirtatious, wide-eyed gaze, to the wised-up, knowing-nod accompanied by a smile of respect.

To find out why - you'll have to read her quick interview here. Let's tease it out a little. During her time as a Creative Producer in various settings from theatre and live-art to club and cabaret she's worked with the likes of Paloma Faith, Immodesty Blaize, Imelda May and Gemma Whelan to name but a few; she's curated at some of London's leading cultural institutions, and is currently producing the international artist Marisa Carnesky.

She also has a little side-project which we're particularly excited about. It's called Hashtag. It's a party. On Friday 10th April at the BGWMC. If you like your parties 'subversive, celebratory and downright dirty' - check it out. We'll say no more. See you there!

Lara recommends three other events: Artists and Engineers present Music of the Spheres at Lime Wharf, Rude Grrl (aka Lisa Lee) presents LipSinkers at the Royal Vauxhall Tavern, and the cult band Suicide play at the Barbican.

In our Magazine section we talk to the Programme Manager and Producer at Shoreditch Town Hall, James Pidgeon - we discover about the Edinburgh previews coming up, plus details on the new 750 capacity hall. We also have jobs going at the Science Museum (Development Executive); Young Vic (Genesis Fellow / Associate Director), Gasworks (Programmes Coordinator), and Cape Farewell (Research and Projects Assistant).

As for the Best of the Rest - here are a few highlights: Sea Without Shore at the Genesis Cinema; Vote Art at Peckham Platform (feat Bob and Roberta Smith, Jeremy Deller + more); Soapbox Sessions at ]performancespace[ (creative activism); Morning Gloryville (alternative all nighter!) at Oval Space; Rumpus at Islington Metal Works (party!); Disco 54 at the BGWMC (party!); and Alice's Adventures Underground at The Vaults (an immersive theatrical 'happening').

Where can I find out more about what's going on? You're not a member of Run-Riot? What are you waiting for - sign up to the free newsletter and we'll share our top tips with you. Easy.

Have a deliciously curious easter! Bottoms up! RRxx
