Good Vibrations

Last week we launched our not-for-profit company runriotprojects.org - the platform for us to produce Learning and Creative projects. As our first project - The Art of Mindfulness - has already reached capacity, we'll be making available more places shortly, for a second set of dates running from 30 Oct - 27 Nov. In the meantime, you can read more about it here.

For many, the Marina Abramović 512 Hours exhibition at the Serpentine Gallery was one of this years cultural highlights. With it now over, she'll be onstage on 11 September to discuss her recent experience in London and why, rejecting the materiality and glitz of so much contemporary art, she believes that in the 21st century art will be made not out of objects but out of energy. The talk is hosted by Intelligence Squared, and you can read more about it here. Later in September she'll also be presenting work at the Lisson Gallery - sound pieces, photography and video work.

Cabaret, comedy and theatre collide at Ben Walter's The Not Television Festival at Chelsea Theatre this weekend. You can expect fresh faced discoveries from the Edinburgh Fringe, plus Red Bastard, Miss Behave's Gameshow, The Sunday Assembley, Electric Midnight Cabaret - and a whole load more!

Our friends at Book Slam host another night of fast paced, silver tongued wit and wry competitiveness featuring Mark Watson and Simon Rich. It's the evening where writers spar with chosen extracts from their latest works - designed to rile their opponent and fuel the audience cheer! Brutally charming!

If you're looking to celebrate the beauty, power and aesthetics that come from analogue technologies - look no further as the The London Analogue Festival is coming to town! It's free and at the Bargehouse (Oxo Tower, Southbank). It'll be a rare opportunity to enjoy side by side film screenings, photography and sound art exhibitions - all in analogue media. Classic!

As for the best of the rest, here's our quick fire round: Deep Trash Italia / Breaking Glass / Superstition / Animals in the wall / Giddy Aunts / La Freak Peep Show / Saturation 70 / North by Northwest / Elixir Festival / The End of the World Party / and Doc'n Roll Festival!

Where can I find out more about what's going on? You're not a member of Run-Riot? What are you waiting for - sign up to the free newsletter and we'll share our top tips with you. Easy.

Have an energising week dear Players! Bottoms up! RRxx
