Eyes Wide Shut

Phenomenological unpredictability. What? Binaural sound. Eh? These are just a few aspects of Fiction - an immersive sound journey in total darkness at the Battersea Arts Centre for three weeks in March.

Before you ask - this is nothing like a radio play. It's described more of 'a communal dream that the audience are involved with together'. It's a collaboration between theatre Director David Rosenberg, writer Glen Neath, sound artists Max and Ben Ringham and neuroscientist Tristan Bekinschtein.

It's true, when the lights go out - is when the fun starts! David Rosenberg, (co-founder of Shunt) our Guest Editor this week tells us more about this trip into your consciousness…

Among David's recommendations to us are Cross Section of a Revolution at the Lisson Gallery, The Rib Man at The Boleyn Tavern, and Forest Fringe at The Place.

Flowing with the conscious stream - we have a few places available on our Art of Mindfulness course (starts on Tues 3 March) - more info here.

In our Magazine section - jobs going at Eventbrite (Business Development Manager, Music) and Floating Cinema (Tour Manger). The British Council have commissioned Dezeen magazine to make a short film, asking 'What is Digital art?' - watch it here.

As always we have some ticket competitions to see and experience some truly sensational things. See funny woman Tiff Stevenson's show 'Optimist' at Soho Theatre; enjoy the deeply sensual film Sea without Shore at the Barbican; or - as part of the Ivana Karanova season at the BFI - enjoy the cheeky film Daisies. Let's get physical. For the pleasure of thwack and sting - Spanking Erotic Class at Sh! Finally - what began as a Dutch performance art piece has since thrust into a punchy movement, it's Chessboxing - we have tickets.

And now for the Best of the rest! Our friends at Craftivist have a special stitch-in (activism and craft) coming up - limited places available - get involved.

We salute film director James Marsh - you'll know him from The Theory of Everything - showing as part of the Barbicans Oscar season. Also catch Marsh's earlier documentary 'Man on Wire' (showing at Birkbeck Cinema) about the 1974 illegal tightrope crossing between the World Trade Centre's twins towers - jaw dropping!

Back with the filth - La Freak: The Smut Disco get it on at the BGWMC. We've told you before. You know what to do. Click me baby.

One of the world's leading practitioners of forum theatre - Cardboard Citizens - present their latest production 'Benefits'. Expect a witty, gritty, interactive evening!

Our hot pals at the Village Underground launch Convergence with a kicking Opening Party - followed by a top festival - read our Q&A with curator Glenn Max for the full juice.

Where can I find out more about what's going on? You're not a member of Run-Riot? What are you waiting for - sign up to the free newsletter and we'll share our top tips with you. Easy.

Lights out! Bottoms up! RRxx
