Everybody Rise and Dance

World class, international artists from twelve countries are heading to London this September for the 40th anniversary of Dance Umbrella - the capital's flagship festival of international dance.

Our Guest Editor this week is former-Yugoslav Sasha Milavic Davies whose work Everything That Rises Must Dance is one of the festival highlights - taking place at Peninsula Square (Greenwich Peninsula), Boxpark (Croydon), and Somerset House (Strand). The large scale production involves over 200 women and is an epic ode to female movement, drawn from the every day and universal.

In her Run-Riot Interview, Sasha talks about her aspirations and inspirations, and offers a deeper context on her work, celebrating women, and dance.

For more culture gems and competitions (Shotgun Carousel's Divine Proportions at The Vaults; Steve Loveridge's feature documentary about M.I.A; The Godfather Trilogy at BFI Southbank; and Kate Bush Special with Baby Bushka - Live Tribute Band at the Moth Club) - browse our Offers page. As for the best of the rest - rummage through our genre-bending pages where you'll find plenty of haut happenings.

Here's to wishing you a high-kicking week dear Players! Bottoms up! RR xx
